Welcome!

My career in education began in 1986 when I worked for the Alachua Multi-County Migrant Education program where I developed and implemented a dropout prevention effort targeting younger students in grades four through six. After two years in this position, I returned to school and earned my BS degree in advertising at the University of Florida. I spent the next two years performing freelance graphic/multimedia work before taking a job in 1994 teaching technology education at Lake Butler Middle School in Union County, Florida.

While teaching in Lake Butler, I earned my master’s degree in educational technology leadership from The George Washington University (Washington DC) and also served as an adjunct instructor at Santa Fe Community College in Gainesville, Florida. In 2000, I moved into my current position providing curriculum and program support to approximately 60 career and technical education programs (including agriscience education, industrial education, technology education and public service education) at the middle and high school level in Volusia County Schools, Florida.

Working on my doctorate has been something I have wanted to do for some time. Earning a Ph.D. in Career and Workforce Education will provide me with the research-based knowledge and skills to work with other professional teams in developing comprehensive training programs that prepare our learners/customers to become productive members of our democratic society.
